Donald is our new Quixote and I guess Steve Bannon is his Sancho Panza, though Bannon doesn't act as a foil and anchor to Trump but as an inciter to his insanity. Together they engage in imaginary battles of chivalry as the world looks on in confusion and horror. It would be pitiful and amusing if they weren't able to ruin lives at the stroke of a pen.
Bannon has indicated that he believes in a cyclical theory of history and society involving periodic remaking and rebirth through cataclysm. Now it appears that he thinks that Trump is its agent or harbinger and that he is its facilitator. This lunatic thinks he has some romantic, dramatic, charismatic role in human history and that they are men of destiny.
