Civilization appears to have been a fair, in retrospect. Rides, competitions, amusements, performances and stalls where goods are sold. Not quite a party but more than subsistence, maybe enabled by an age or period or era of unusually good weather. A 10,000 year bash is a good run. No complaints on my end.
But the ICE age cometh, heralding the end of everything.
