I haven't been there but friends back from Florence say it's been ruined for them, by some kind of growth or development. I believe it. Nothing resists the American plunder model. Or it takes some serious regulation and real effort, wherever there’s money to be made.
Many unspoiled places exist, by remoteness or protection, and plenty in Italy. Let's all go there now, somewhere that hasn’t been ruined by profiteers. Or, if we get America back from the oligarchs, regulate the shit out of it. That’s an idea. Civility. Power to the people!
