So his wants are a little different. He must be at the center. Constantly reassured. What's more reassuring than being surrounded by people who will die for you.
Don't underestimate the power of the Secret Service detail and the perks of the presidency. That he wants to stay out of jail is a thing but abstract for Trump.
Everything he does is much more primal. If he was capable of planning he wouldn't be so under threat in the first place. He simply needs to feel at the center.
And that someone around him will die for him. That those around him are consumed with him. Which he didn't get from mommy. Bush wasn't much better.
He had the 'nobody home' look in the eyes. Like his mother drink when pregnant. These are the leaders Republicans offer up now. As a show of contempt.
Because it's all they have to offer.
